NQ Jazz- Billy Marrows’ grande família

Grande Família Sextet – Live on Tour Spring 2025

Experience the Grande Família Sextet, a dynamic, high-energy ensemble led by award-winning guitarist and composer Billy Marrows. This electrifying group delivers a bold fusion of chamber-jazz, cinematic textures, and explosive improvisation, blending three horns with guitar and a powerhouse rhythm section.

This show marks the penultimate date of the band’s Spring 2025 tour, celebrating the release of their highly anticipated second album, The Penelope Album Live, out March 28 on Discus Music. Recorded during their sold-out, standing ovation performance at Pizza Express Jazz Club in London, this album captures the raw energy and emotion of their critically acclaimed live show.

Originally formed for Billy Marrows’ debut album, Penelope, the band was a heartfelt tribute to his mother during her battle with pancreatic cancer. Released in her memory in 2024, the album has since raised over £5,450 for World Child Cancer.

This performance will feature brand-new compositions inspired by Weather Report, Gil Evans, and Loose Tubes, alongside music from both albums.
