Local cotton was a mainstay of the city's economy and materials from Cheetham Hill, and Strangeways boosted revenue.The Yard lies at the heart of a community dismantled in recent years. We aim to re-build this, responsibly, by rallying the people of Manchester to a platform which promotes ethical, sustainable, and hand-made local fashion brands.Local designers and vendors are invited to showcase, creating specific markets in our exciting new space. FFF: epicentre of handmade goods; a modern heritage landmark upholding historic Manchester values.

NQ JAZZ: Emma Rawic

Emma Rawicz is a young saxophonist and composer, already making waves on the UK music scene. At the age of 19 she has already recorded her eagerly awaited debut album featuring Ant Law, made up entirely of her original compositions, due to be released in early 2022.

Granfaloon Plays Songs from David Lynch

On Friday 29th October, Granfalloon (AKA Richard Lomax) and his collaborators will perform a special set of songs from the legendary director David Lynch's body of work. The evening will feature a performance from Granfalloon, who will be playing in front of projections of Lynch's early work. This will be followed by a screening of the 1977 Lynch classic film, 'Eraserhead' on the big screen at The Yard.

Baked A LA SKA Halloween Special

Baked A La Ska are the “heavy heavy sound” of Manchester, a super charged 11-headed ska monster on a rampage through the dance floors of the UK leaving a trail of skanked out bodies in their wake. It’s a band of assembled oddballs and pranksters brought together by keyboardist and wizard Mr John Ellis, fronted by an un-holy trio of singers.

NQ JAZZ: Matt Carmichael

A distinctive new voice in a crowded scene’ (BBC Music Magazine), saxophonist Matt Carmichael is a product of Glasgow’s thriving jazz scene. He has been writing and performing his own music since his teens performing at Celtic Connections, Ronnie Scott’s, Latitude Festival, Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival and was a finalist in the televised BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020.
